Friday 7th Sept 2012
Joe Rooney & Pat McDonnell
Venue: Sean Hollywood Arts Centre Doors: 19:30 Show: 20:30 Tickets: Sold Out
Best known as the unforgettable Father Damo and Eoin McLove in Father Ted, and more recently for their roles in Killinaskully, The Savage Eye and Naked Camera, Joe Rooney and Pat McDonnell are two of Ireland’s most charismatic comedians. Their show is a wonderful mixture of hilarious observations on modern Ireland and rip-roaringly funny musical parodies.
Weaving a comedic web of observation about everything from fatherhood to his one armed chemistry teacher, with his 8 legs and hilarious hairy body Joe Rooney is both metaphorically and literally a comedy spider. Known as Father Damo from Father Ted and Timmy from Killinascully he is in fact Joe Rooney.
“Delivery plus content. He’s a smooth operator with an innate confidence…..” - Chortle
Very physical, totally unorthodox, and with a style so bizarre… Rooney is a refreshing change.”
- The Sunday Times
Joining Joe will be Pat Mc Donnell. From his role as Eoin McLove on Father Ted to his many hilarious characters on ‘Naked Camera’ and ‘Stew’, Patrick McDonnell is no stranger to our television screens. However, if you haven’t seen his unique brand of stand-up comedy, you’re truly missing out. He is also a key writer & character in David McSavage’s hilarious IFTA Nominated ‘The Savage Eye’ TV show.
“Splendidly original and a bit bizarre, he is the business” – The Sunday Times
“McDonnell’s stand-up routine is a delight, a cynical, angry beast of a set which never loses its comic edge” – The Scotsman
This is a night of craic you do not want to miss.
